You can apply for veterans benefits in Canada on line, by mail, or by phone. In order to apply on line, you must first register for a MyVAC (My Veterans Affairs Canada) account. This is done online using your VAC file number. Once you have registered with MyVAC you can submit and complete the Application for Benefits online. Alternatively, the Application for Benefits is available on the Veterans Affairs website and can be submitted by mail. You can also call VAC for help with determining your eligibility or to apply for benefits at: 1-866-522-2122 (English) or 1-866-522-2022 (French). If you do not have a MyVAC account, register for one on the Veterans Affairs Canada website. This only takes a few minutes, but you will need your VAC file number.
Once you have created an account, log in and open the Application for Benefits. Complete the form and submit it on line. If you have any questions about the form, you can call VAC at: 1-866-522-2122 (English) or 1-866-522-2022 (French).
You can track the status of your benefits application through the MyVAC portal. You will also be able to see a screen summarizing the benefits you have received to date.
If you would rather apply by mail, the benefits application form is available on the VAC website. Download and print it. Send the completed form to:
